Designated Safeguarding Leads
At Woodthorpe JI School safeguarding is of utmost importance. Our staff safeguards and promote the welfare of their pupils by:
- Creating and maintaining a safe learning environment for children and young people, and
- Identifying where there are child welfare concerns and taking action to address them, in partnership with other organisations where appropriate.
We all share a crucial role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Specifically this involves early identification of welfare concerns and indicators of possible abuse or neglect, referring those concerns to the appropriate organisation, contributing to the assessment of a child's needs and ongoing action to meet those needs.
If you have concerns about a child or would like to share a disclosure, the Designated Senior Leaders (DSL's) for Safeguarding and Child Protection at Woodthorpe JI School are:
Ms L. McGrath (Head Teacher) - Lead DSL
Mr M. Trevor (Deputy Head Teacher) - Deputy DSL
Ms R. Carrington (Assistant Head Teacher) - Deputy DSL
Mrs S. Mason (Teaching Assistant) - Deputy DSL
